Litter Legends will be hosting its 29th volunteer clean-up along German Church Road in Redland Bay/Mount Cotton. What are you waiting for? Become a Litter Legend this Sunday morning and help remove illegal dumping along German Church Rd!

After 28 clean-ups along this road, it is clear that it needs some serious attention. In 5.25km of roadside and bushland, we have removed 124.25 bags of rubbish, 90 tyres, as well as plenty of other stuff.

The litter that covers our roads, parks and waterways in the Redlands is horrendous. What our clean-ups aim to do: Prevent litter from entering the environment any further; Remove historic litter and illegal dumping; Raise awareness and inspire others; Encourage fun, community spirit.

This is a volunteer and child-friendly event. Please be advised this is not just your normal roadside litter pick, what we're doing here is hardcore. We will be in the bush, digging and carrying stuff out of the bush. Any help is welcome no matter your physicality.

Litter Legends supplies reusable bags, buckets, high-visibility vests, pick-up devices, gloves and other useful equipment. I highly recommend that you bring along your own clean-up equipment as I want you to feel comfortable and safe. I have a general first-aid kit for small injuries and a sharps kit if any needles are found.

Event Details:

When - Sunday, 24th of January 2021 from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM.

What to bring (recommended) - Put on sunscreen and insect repellent. Wear a hat, enclosed shoes, long pants and a long-sleeved shirt. Bring plenty of water and a face mask (just in case).

Where - German Church Rd, Redland Bay. The meeting point will be out the front of 341 German Church Rd. Which is right at the end of the no-through-road leading off of the Valley Way, Heinemann Rd roundabout intersection. I'll be there before everyone else arrives so just keep an eye out for my white ute and trailer. Find a safe place to park on the side of the road.
