Clean up for the Hatchlings is a free event!

Clean up for the Hatchlings is a free event run by Sunshine Coast Council in collaboration with TurtleCare Sunshine Coast, ReefCheck Australia, SeaLife Trust and Kabi Kabi Peoples Aboriginal Corporation, inspiring our community to come together to help clean up Sunshine Coast beaches in preparation for the hatchling turtles.

What's happening:

6am - 7.30am - Beach clean ups at various location from Coolum to Caloundra.

8am - 10am - Thank you celebration at Coopers Lookout Park on the south side of the Kawana Surf Club.

What to do:

Register to attend one of the 17 sites for the beach clean up.

Register to attend the free BBQ at Kawana.

What to bring:

Sun safe clothing including hat and footwear

We’re going for a Plastic Free event (especially single use plastics) so please bring reusable items wherever possible (eg. Water bottle, coffee cup, and gloves)

What we provide:

Volunteer site coordinators to assist you to register and let you know the safety tips at your clean up site.

Reusable gloves and clean up bags for your use at each clean up site.

Free BBQ, inspiring speakers, engaging displays and fun children's activities at the thank you celebration.
