Event description

C.U.D.I. Clean Up Double Island!

Yes, It's on again!

No stopping us now, November the 30th and 1st and 2nd Dec, are our designated dates for looking after what we love and cherish! Surfrider Foundation Australia's Sunshine Coast branch is once again hosting the epic bi-annual clean up & camping weekend on the beaches of 'Double Island'.

It's going to be Massive! The planets and waves have aligned, to bring us all together, for this wonderful event, and we invite you to attend!

Come help out and hang out with a few hundred like minded and passionate people, who are keen to keep this paradise clean now and into the future. Every 6 months we pick up an average of 2 tonnes of rubbish and marine debris! With the record in May 2017 of 3.5T!! Stoked with these results!

From Noosa North Shore to Double Island Point and around to Rainbow, there's no shortage of it. Sign up and make a difference to the oceans, waves and beaches you love. It's easy!

Come Surf, swim, relax and in between times, be part of our Clean Up Crew, and do the do! We supply the bags and permits via Parks and Wildlife, and you supply the man power and passion! The results are amazing! :)

A weekend away, for you, and/or your family

Digital Detox, as it is out of mobile range usually. :)

Come self sufficient, and get back to nature. (BYO loo too!)

We do actually bring some portable ones with us at base, if nature calls!

Camping fees covered courtesy of Parks and Wildlife. Just register with us.

Beach Clean Up - any day you like, bring it all back when you like, or mainly Sat 3pm to base camp. :)

Sorting and databasing (Help in these teams if you like!)
Then the BBQ at around 4pm, Saturday and onto the entertainment.

It's Social: Bring the family, bring your mates. Have a great time over 3 days.

In between times, Swim, Fish, Surf, Sunbake, or do nothing! Enjoy Saturday night's Bonfire, and the musician that usually comes along, and B.Y.O. your own instruments, as it's all about Camarardarie, and feelin good!

Excellent prizes from our partners to be won and giveaways, just for volunteering!

Raffles, Kids games and competitions. Displays. Please feel free to bring firewood from home if you like too.

Plan your weekend or day trip/s. We can organise transport if you do not have a 4 x 4. Limited though.

The Barge fee is $7 one way, per vehicle or trailer folks.

Follow us on facebook for the updates and help spread the word by sharing, liking and commenting.

Check this out when you can as well!!

Click the REGISTER button, read the message, and fill in your details. It's that simple. Your details will be logged straight into the database. All volunteers gain fee exempt 4x4 and camping under our permit and we send the details to QPWS. The Rangers on the beach, will then have your Reggo on their list, and there will be no problemo!

You'll get a confirmation email from Eventbrite, (we do too), and we'll send out an info sheet, about the event, and the Cooloola coast conditions report, for those days, with all details to your email address in the weeks before the clean-up. One of the Surfrider Staff will ring you, to see which area you may like to clean up, so you may "Hog" that section of Beach. if you do not have a favourite place to clean, we can suggest one for you!

Sign on for Registrants, for insurance etc, purposes, will be at the Barge at Mooroondil Ferry, before you hop on the Barge. That way, you can scoot to your piece of Paradise. Set up your camp, then clean up, or vice versa, just whichever way suits you! Join us back at Base on Saturday, around 35k's up the Beach, (You will see us!) for fun and chill out times.
