David and Quin present a delightful program complementing the classic with the cutting-edge
About this event
Comprising 19th century works by Sor, Brahms and Villa-Lobos, this program distinguishes itself with two new song cycles, one ("Waldheim Songs", proudly commissioned by the Weindorfer Commemoration committee and Salamanca Arts Centre) by celebrated Tasmanian composer Maria Grenfell, the other ("Un/breaking") by Quin themself.
The works, presented virtuosically by this duo of leading-edge Tasmanian classical musicians, celebrate love and the natural world, and also lament loss and hardship. The program is full of humour, pathos and beautiful sonic contrasts unlikely for such small forces, while always remaining intimate and accessible to the audience.
This very special event will be held against the backdrop of stunning ocean views from the Panorama Hotel's dining room. Come early for lunch, or stay for a drink, and help us thank them for their generous venue support.
