Clare's NAIDOC Event - Take 2!
Event Information
About this Event
Join us at the Clare Showgrounds on Saturday, 30 January 2021 for a day of action-packed indigenous activities that celebrate the First Nations people of the Ngadjuri Nation.
Come along to see clap stick and bead making, basket weaving and Aboriginal painting, as well as attend 'On the Couch' sessions where Ngadjuri and other First Nations peoples will share their stories and connection to Country.
This FREE event will be fun for the whole family, with roving palaeontologist Professor Flint entertaining the kids with facts about megafauna, while Animals Anonymous will bring along a range of friendly Australian native animals.
The event, which runs from 4pm to 9pm, will have a festival atmosphere with food, music, dancing and stalls to browse.
Led by the Clare NAIDOC committee together with Ngadjuri Nation Aboriginal Corporation, this event is supported by the Northern and Yorke Landscape Board and Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Board, through funding from the Australian Government’s National Landcare Program, Clare & Gilbert Valleys Council and the Landscape Levy. The Clare NAIDOC event has also received support from Sonder and the Department for Education.
