Event description
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) ) is the United Nations body for assessing the science related to climate change.

About this Event

IPCC Report on Global Warming of 1.5°C was approved by governments on 8th October 2018.

Perth has three Lead Authors involved in this Report:

• Professor Petra Tschakert, Geography, Faculty of Science, UWA

• Professor Peter Newman, School of Design & Built Environment, Curtin University

• Dr Jatin Kala, Senior Lecturer in Environmental Science, Murdoch University.

The three speakers will do introductory comments on the following with plenty of time for questions:

• Why 1.5°C is critical and implications for pathways to the future

• What is being done globally and what needs to be done

• Impact of climate change on poverty and inequality
