CIRCOLOCO with Âme, Matthias Tanzmann and Francesca Lombardo
Sunday, 3 November 2013 at 3:00 PM - Monday, 4 November 2013 at 4:30 AM (AEDT)
We are excited to announce the return of Circoloco after a fantastic Easter Edition in March, which saw David Squillace and the Apollonia collective seduce the crowd at the Alley
Joining us in November are three international artists who will concrete the Circoloco tradition at Brown Alley. Âme will initially entrance, followed by Circoloco resident Matthias Tanzmann and Francesca Lombardo.
Prepare yourselves for a day of hypnotic gamboling and the occasional pirouette.
After a long night of dancing, many night club patrons leave the venue with a certain track stuck in their heads. But for Âme, the DJ/production duo of Kristian Beyer and Frank Wiedemann, the tunes lodged in their brains are the ones they didn't hear, ones not yet written that would fit perfectly in their sets.
Since 2003, Beyer and Wiedemann have penned songs that once existed just outside club- goers' imagination, songs that boldly combined floor-filling elements with conceptual conceits while maintaining their visceral appeal.
Matthias Tanzmann began his career djing and producing in Leipzig in the mid 90's. Fast foward to today, he has founded two successful record labels and is a resident for International party series Circoloco. His efforts in the business have resulted in three consecutive nominiations at the Ibiza DJ Awards.
Tanzmann's labels Moon Harbour Recordings and Carbo Edition have rapidly became
synonymous with quality deep-house and tech-house, releasing records from the likes of Luna City Express, Marlow, Michael Melchner and Ekkohaus.
He joins us for the Brown Alley edition of Circoloco in November.
Under the alias of Jackie Misfit, Francesca Lombardo began her career spinning at various underground parties in London at clubs like Brixton Academy and The Drom. Lombardo created her own label, Echolette Recordings in 2010. It was a quick success story, with remixes from the likes of Hector picking up keen support from tastemakers including Marco Carola, Radio Slave and Loco Dice.
This unique electronic sculptress has been inspired by a lifetime of listening to Depeche Mode, Aphex Twin, Plastikman and more recent sounds like those offered by Ghostly International and Traum.
The future looks bright for Francesca Lombardo, soon releasing an upcoming EP on leading contemporary label, Crosstown Rebels.
