Ciguatera Fish Poisoning: Science Day

Hosted by SafeFish and Queensland Health Forensic and Scientific Services

An Australian workshop with invited international experts to link researchers, regulators, food authorities, health departments and fisheries.

The workshop will cover ecological, epidemiological and toxicological aspects of ciguatera fish poisoning to inform the later prioritisation of Australian research objectives.

Keynote Speakers:

Opening: Mireille Chinain (French Polynesia)

Ecology: Alison Robertson (USA) and Shauna Murray (AUS)

Epidemiology: Clémence Gatti (French Polynesia) and Russell Stafford (Aus)

Toxicology: Tim Harwood (NZ) and Richard Lewis (AUS)

Registration is free for this event. Places are limited so if for some reason after registration you are unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible.

Catering:

Lunch, morning and afternoon teas provided. Please contact andreas.seger@sa.gov.au with specific dietary requirements prior to the 18th of March 2019. 

Accommodation:

There are several Hotel options available in Brisbane's CBD. We recommend either of the closely together located Pullman or Mercure Hotels on King George Square corner of Ann & Roma Streets in the center of the CBD, as the chartered bus to the venue will depart from the Pullman Hotel.

Transport:

 For attendees staying in the CBD, a chartered bus will be available to take you to the conference venue free of charge. The Bus will depart from the Mercure Hotel on King George Square corner of Ann & Roma Streets at 7:30 am.

For attendees with private transport, car parking will be made available and an parking map distributed closer to the date.

Science Day dinner:

At participants own cost. Location to be confirmed
