Have you ever wondered what goes on under the ground with the roots of a tree, and if all trees behave the same? Are there are particular trees that are not suited to urban life, or some that you could fall in love with, but just haven’t met yet?
In the second of two very special workshops, one of Australia’s most respected tree experts, Dr Greg Moore is visiting Moonee Valley to shed some light on what lies beneath, above, and within our trees, busting more than a few myths along the way. In this workshop, Dr Moore will unlock many of the secrets of the quiet tree, top to very bottom.
As a special treat, Essendon Community Gardens, Melbourne's second oldest community garden, is hosting this workshop for My Smart Garden. These dedicated community gardeners are not only expert urban agriculturalists, but they're watersmart, and beekeepers too! You can see all this, alongside beautiful espaliered fruit trees, gums, and likeminded local gardeners.
Bring a gold coin or two because the Garden's Committee is firing up the BBQ and whipping out some cakes for hungry smart gardening visitors.
See you there!
