Learn with a Speech Pathologist how young children develop language and communication skills, and how you can support this in practice.

About this Event

The workshop will consist of three main topics:

• Communication development

• Speech sounds, their development and expected age of acquisition

• The components of language and expected age of acquisition

... and how literacy experiences underpin them all.

About the Presenter: Dariell Rice is a speech pathologist who has specialised working with individuals with complex communication needs in educational settings and in private practice. She has also taught at a tertiary level and is a presenter who is passionate about the interaction between the ‘teacher’ and the ‘learner’.

Dariell is addicted to books, words and language – in all their wondrous forms and has been involved with Raising Literacy for many years.
