About this event
Join our volunteer, Jing, for this wonderful free program. Spaces are limited, so please ensure you are able to attend all FOUR sessions - Fridays 3, 10, 17 & 24 June from 10am to 12noon.
If you can no longer attend please let us know and withdraw your enrolment.
For millennia, silk painting has helped shape China's rich visual history. This exquisite practice pairs two of Chinese culture's most celebrated artistic traditions — sinuous brushwork and tactically spun textiles — making it an exceptionally important craft.
Jing will guide you through the ancient art of Chinese Painting, introducing you to some of the tools and processes, before guiding you to practice some basic skills.
This class will
- cover a basic understanding of silk painting practice
- silk painting demonstration
- create your own small silk painting work under guidance.
As this program is currently modified to meet public gathering restrictions, we have limited spaces available.
We ask that you please register here, or call your local library if you need help making a booking. If you are no longer able to make an event, please let us know so that others don’t miss out.
