MATTHEW SAMPIAS, GENERAL MANAGER, SSW - QUEENSLAND AND INTERNATIONAL
Originally from the US’s Silicon Valley, Matthew has worked for a variety of technology focused businesses from startups to large consulting firms. Matthew has been travelling to China since 2009 as the Global Engagements Director for a Chinese retail technology business, and most recently as the General Manager of International at SSW Software. Matthew’s experience working as a tech expert in both markets has led to his interest in becoming a tech problem solver for both Chinese and Western companies as they grow, compete, and cooperate with each other.

ALVIN SHEN, CEO, SSW CHINA
As the CEO of SSW China, Alvin Shen manages both the SSW Beijing and SSW Hangzhou offices. Alvin has 13 years’ experience in IT development in both China and Australia and during this time has established himself as a passionate expert and industry leader. Alvin began his career as a .NET and SharePoint developer, and through his passion for Scrum and entrepreneurship took on subsequent roles as a great Product Owner, business development manager and CEO of an IT startup with a staff of 70.
Because of Alvin’s business experience in both China and Australia, he understands the differences between Eastern and Western business practices and can successfully bridge the two to ensure communication and satisfactory outcomes for all sides. Alvin also provides his clients with valuable insights into Chinese market trends and solutions to challenges faced by companies engaging in cross border commerce.
