Children's Week Gala Dinner

To celebrate Children’s Week, we are fortunate to have two guest speakers with enormous experience in working with and for children, Megan Mitchell, National Children’s Commissioner and Dale Wakefield MLA, member for Braitling and Minister for Territory Families.
Included: Sparkling wine on arrival, damper, gormet barbeque buffet, and sticky date pudding, as well as access to the telescopes for your stargazing pleasure, and limited seats on a pick-up/drop-off bus* to town for those without a designated driver.

In 2013, Megan was appointed as the first National Children’s Commissioner. She focusses solely on the rights and interests of children and, the laws, policies and programs that impact on them.
Megan’s vast work experience has been centred on child safety, wellbeing, including in the context of child protection, juvenile justice, early childhood services, and out of home care.
Megan’s qualifications are in psychology, education and social policy.
Dale is the member for Braitling and Minister for Territory Families; she has lived and worked in Alice Springs for 12 years. Dale is a social worker and her experience has been in health, disability and domestic violence. Dale led the Alice Springs Women’s Shelter to become a nationally recognised and award winning service.
Dale held the positions of Chair and Board member of the Central Australian Women’s Legal Service. She has represented the NT on several national bodies.
