Don’t let those old jeans go to waste. Come along to The Nest at Everton Park these school holidays, make new friends, learn how to up cycle and use an old pair of jeans to make a useful and funky bag.
During this fun workshop you can unleash your creativity using different combinations of fabrics and decorate your bag with supplies from the haberdashery store at The Nest. Learn how to use a sewing machine, add fabric decorations, sew on buttons and master some hand sewing skills. Once you know how to sew this great bag you will be able to make your own individual one of a kind designs. No need to go to the shops, solve your gift giving problems by reusing items which would otherwise be wasted.
The workshop will be lead by an experienced registered high school sewing teacher and assistant.
This workshop is suitable for school - aged students from age 11 years and is limited to 6 participants, so students can receive individual attention.
What to bring: All materials and equipment supplied for a cost of $15.
Morning tea will be supplied, but students must bring their own lunch. If you have an old pair of jeans you want to use bring them along, but we will have some for students to use if needed.
Parents and Caregivers please note: The workshop must be booked and paid for in advance.
You must sign your children in when you arrive for the start of the workshop and complete relevant paper work and contact details.
The Nest is volunteer-run, not-for-profit organisation, our community of women are passionate about supporting the development of education and rehabilitation programs for women's issues that currently receive little or no funding.
