Child Protection Training

Presented by Therapy Focus, this FREE workshop introduces allied health professionals working with children to the complicated area of child neglect and abuse.
What is Child Protection training?
Child Protection training introduces staff to the complicated area of child abuse and neglect, an issue which staff working with children may come across. The training aims to increase attendee’s knowledge of child protection issues and provide some guidance on how best to respond when a child protection issue arises.
What will I learn?
Attendees will gain a better understanding of child protection; including the warning signs, risk factors and the different forms that child abuse and neglect can take. You’ll also learn how to respond to child protection issues, including responding to disclosures from a child who has experienced trauma. Lastly, the training aims to increase attendee’s confidence to ask questions and take action around this difficult and sensitive area.
Who are the presenters?
Social Worker, Eddie Drury
Eddie is the Coordinator of the Behaviour Support Team at Therapy Focus and a qualified social worker. Eddie delivers a range of training for parents and professionals including topics such as child protection, aggressive behaviours, suicidal ideation and Triple P parenting programs.
