About this Event
The presenters will provide need-to-know information about how to confidently respond when you have concerns about the safety of children, and how to make the best referrals to help families care for their children safely in the home.
The workshop will explore:
- When to report to Child Protection and when to refer to legal/support service
- Role of Child Protection in working with families, outside, during and after Court
- Role of The Orange Door in supporting families
- The role of lawyers in supporting families and the Children's Court process
- Role of VACCA and Lakidjeka/ACCSASS in supporting Aboriginal families
This workshop is designed for Department of Education staff based in Inner Gippsland. You will hear from locally selected guest speakers from DHHS/Child Protection, The Orange Door, VACCA, Victoria Legal Aid and Victorian Aboriginal Legal Service including practitioners and practice leaders.
