Child Inspired Play Spaces
Fostering a connection between children and the natural environment has the ability to encourage curiosity and adventure through imagination and exploration. Together we will explore the possibilities by inviting conversation about the ways aesthetics and an interactional environment cultivates richer experiences and opportunities for children’s learning, in a space designed by children for children. Multi-sensory stimulation of nature will be experienced in this session, as you smell, touch and identify practical elements that will foster a richer connection with objects that are freely available for nature play.
Participants will have an opportunity to
- Explore what inspires and excites you to plan the experiences you want children to have
- Develop skills in advocating for the energetic learning that creates a strong appreciation of the outdoors
- Learn through conducting an analysis of spaces incorporating texture, light and colour
- Plan, Act and Review strategies and techniques for developing creative inspiring spaces
