Event description

Description

This session is for familiarization of the Chicks in the Sticks event course (Note actual Chicks in the Sticks event is the week after) combined with a look at the more challenging technical sections of the course and how to best approach them. Two sessions will be held on Sunday 20/8 with group numbers limited per Level 1 MTBA qualified coach. (There will be two coaches on the day). Both coaches are experienced in woman's Mtb coaching and deliver the SheRides Program in Daisy Hill for Cycling Australia, the development Squads for MTBA and Coach the Australian CX team.

The two X 2 hour sessions are being offered on Sunday Morning with both intermediates and beginners being catered for. If you are looking for a lower paced loop taking time to look and try the obstacles leisurely go for beginner, if you want to stop only at the main obstacles and potentially get a second lap in go for intermediate.

You can choose which session you select by the ticket type you purchase. See the description of each session below for more details.

A donation of $6.50 per rider will be made on your behalf to the scouts for the use of the trails for the session. This is covered in the session registration fee.

Note, these sessions do not provide you nor guarantee you access to the actual Chicks in the Sticks event the following Sunday. You must make a separate entry application with the event organizers (which we would recommend to do soon as last year it did sell out).

FAQs

Is there an age limit to enter the sessions?

You need to be 18 unless your parent is accompanying you on the course. If so parents must also be registered for the session also

What should I bring to the event?

Your bike and usual riding equipment including helmet. You will need to bring sufficient water and food for the duration of the session. We recommended a muslie bar or two (or similar) for on the trail and a minimum of a full water bottle. You should also bring your spare tube and tyre repair equipment. It's a good chance to "dry run" all the gear you are planning to take with you in the event and to gain any advice from the experienced coaches on the day.

Don't forget to apply sun screen before the session starts also!

Where can I contact the organiser with any questions?

On our Facebook site is best. or

Email: markw.mbcb@gmail.com

or markr.mbcb@gmail.com

What is the refund policy?

Sorry, no refunds are available for this event.

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?

Yes you can transfer your ticket to another participant for the day if for any reason you can not make it. You will need to notify us prior though. There is a small administration fee of $10 to transfer.

Can I ride the course more before or after the coaching sessions on the day?

The Karingal camp is a private facility which we have had to book your session in . For this reason the course can only be ridden on the day and within the session time allocated. Thankyou for your understanding.
