Checkin With Your Community Devonport
Event Information
About this Event
The Mental Health Council of Tasmania (MHCT) is travelling around the state in early 2021 to host a series of community discussions about mental health and wellbeing.
We are interested to hear your ideas about what could be done to maintain wellbeing in our communities. We want to hear about existing positive strategies and initiatives that are working well in your area, and discuss some of the issues that might be inhibiting wellbeing in your community, including barriers to accessing mental health supports and services.
We are also keen to receive input into the Tasmanian Child and Youth Wellbeing Strategy. In March 2020 the Tasmanian Premier committed to develop Tasmania’s first comprehensive, long-term, whole-of-government, Child and Youth Wellbeing Strategy for children aged 0-25 years. The Strategy will guide policy and service provision for Tasmania’s young people, and our discussions with local communities will feed directly into to the development of the Strategy. We are speaking with young people directly, but ideas and feedback provided by parents, carers, educators, service providers and interested community members will also be invaluable.
During the sessions, MHCT will also share details about our Check In campaign and provide an update on reforms currently underway across the Tasmanian mental health system.
Refreshments will be provided.
We encourage you to come along and contribute to the discussion, and share this opportunity with friends, family or interested colleagues. Simply register your attendance at a location near you below.
Enquiries can be directed to Ezra at ethomas@mhct.org or on 0431 792 073.
Please register to attend by February 2 as seating is limited.
