About this Event

The UWA Business School is pleased to invite you to attend the next event in the 2019 Morgan Stanley Series Charities: Their Nature and Purpose on Thursday 27 June 2019 presented by Professor David Gilchrist.

The establishment of the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission in 2013 was a watershed in relation to the place of charities in the Australian community and economy. Its existence gave focus to a number of national discussions that arose over the previous ten years or so and which related to every aspect of charitable activities—funding methods, governance, philanthropy, performance assessment, advocacy and so on.

In this public lecture Professor David Gilchrist, a former member of the ACNC Advisory Board and a national leader in charity human services policy and governance, will discuss the nature of these important organisations, examine their contribution and identify the key risks inherent in the current policy framework—risks to charities and their stakeholders.

If you are interested in charities, their operations and their future, join us for this highly relevant presentation in which Professor Gilchrist will examine the prospects for achieving better outcomes in human services over the next two decades. Please click on the link below in order to reserve your seat.

Please arrive at 4.45pm for a 5pm start. Drinks and nibbles will be provided after the presentation from 6pm.

We hope you will join us.
