The future of work has been an ongoing theme of the QUT Real World Futures program and is one we return to in the first of this year’s Real World Conversations.

Changing Roles – the Real Impact of Technology on Work will feature Oxford-based Associate Professor, Michael Osborne, whose research over the past five years has led international thinking on what will happen to work.

Michael was an inaugural speaker in the Real World Futures program in 2015 and will offer international insights from his latest research in this discussion which will also feature some very local views as well as an upclose look at what’s being done to prepare the next generation for their working lives.

He will be joined by the principal of one of Brisbane’s largest and most innovative high schools MacGregor State High School, Ms Elizabeth Foster, As an educator Liz is relentlessly optimistic about the potential of all young people and the change that this generation will lead. With energy and experience she values community, authentic learning experiences and the building of high performing teams that empower all people so that together we can exceed our potential.

The Policy and Strategy Director of one of our most innovative local councils Sunshine Coast Regional Council, Dr Graham Fraine. Graham has a background of more than 20 years’ experience in public policy development and social science research, specialising in transportation, program development and service delivery.

And Ms Jeanette Allom-Hill, Group Executive Business Performance, Sunshine Coast Council. Jeanette has held senior professional roles covering a broad range of disciplines, including deep transformation experience and a track record in developing, designing and executing complex change initiatives.

The event will be moderated by Ms Danielle Duell, founder and CEO of People With Purpose.
