Changes in housing: A conversation about what’s happening in the suburbs.
Wed. 26 October 2016, 5:15 pm – 7:45 pm AEDT
Cities and suburbs are changing rapidly to accommodate the increased numbers of people moving to urban areas. How does this affect us? How does it affect our environment? Are the changes fair and equitable or are some groups being left out of the housing market? These are among the issues that a group of researchers from the University of Melbourne are going to discuss in a public forum. Our researchers want to hear from you as well. What do you think of increases in housing density? Is more public transport really a good thing? Come along and talk with our researchers, have your say and learn from each other.
What to expect:
Four short presentations by our researchers on different aspects of changes to housing
A world café forum – small group discussions with researchers that get to the core of what we know and how we feel about changes to urban housing
A chance to have your say about what policy change you would like to see in regard to housing and urban development
What to bring:
If you can bring a mobile device to participate in our live opinion polling that would be great, although it’s not essential
