Champions of change - The pursuit of diverse leadership

Please join us for an interactive discussion on the importance of a diverse leadership team, how they are achieving gender equality and some of the key trends to empower the next generation of women.

Catherine Fox, one of Australia's leading commentators on women and the workforce as well as a Walkley award-winning journalist, author and presenter will facilitate the discussion with our special guest panellists. We look forward hearing a diverse range of experiences on leadership, influence, action and progress.

Natalie Malligan:

Natalie is Uber's General Manager for NSW and the ACT. She is responsible for the growth and efficient operation of Uber’s ridesharing service, which now serves more than a million people across five cities.

Prior to joining Uber Natalie was a Manager in Bain and Company's Private Equity practice in San Francisco and Sydney. She holds a combined Bachelor of Commerce and Laws from the University of Sydney and a Master of Business Administration from Columbia University in New York.

Sam Turner:

She is an energetic and engaging leader who is passionate about people, and equality. Sam believes that everyone has the right to feel safe, comfortable and included in work-life conversations and culture, and that organisations have a responsibility to foster this environment.

Sam has been with Westpac for four years, prior to her current role she was the Business Manager
for NSW Regional and ACT Retail Banking and has also held various senior roles at NAB, BHP, and Deloitte. Sam was the Overall Winner of the 2016 Internal Westpac Women of Influence Awards for her
thought leadership and execution in the Inclusion & Diversity space. She holds an Honours degree in
Commerce, and a Postgraduate Diploma of Psychology.

Ray Pittman:

Ray Pittman is a member of the Property Male Champions of Change group.

With over 32 years of experience in commercial real estate, Ray’s expertise includes corporate strategy and executive team leadership , property acquisition and development, brokerage, account management, and business operations.

Prior to re-joining CBRE in the U.S. as the Senior Managing Director and Market Leader for CBRE in Colorado, Ray was the President of Pittman Development Group, Inc., a leading commercial real estate development and investment firm headquartered in Denver, Colorado. Prior to founding Pittman Development Group, Ray served as Senior Vice President for Catellus Development Corp in Colorado. In 2011, Ray re-joined CBRE, where he spent 15 years of his early commercial real estate career. Ray was also Executive Managing Director for the company’s Midwest Region and Executive Managing Officer for the Denver area.

Tim Reed:

Tim Reed joined MYOB in 2003, and was appointed CEO in 2008 after holding several senior management roles in the business. He’s passionate about the potential of digital technology to transform society and help businesses succeed. Tim has overseen MYOB’s transformation to become a modern tech company that delivers innovative accounting and business management tools to more than 1.2m businesses across Australia and New Zealand.

His previous career spans Asia, Europe, the United States and Australia and prior to joining MYOB, Tim worked in Silicon Valley for several companies in the fast-paced global technology and internet markets.

Tim is an engaging speaker who frequently discusses how artificial intelligence, automation and the changing nature of work are revolutionising the face of business. He is an active member of the Male Champions of Change and believes in harnessing the power of diverse and supportive workplaces to drive innovation.

He sits on the board of the Business Council of Australia, and chairs the BCA Innovation Task Force, responsible for advocating an effective innovation system and promoting the productivity and competitiveness of Australian industry.
