Event description
"It’s bizarre and brilliant; a breathless life story told through disco mime and wide-eyed, giggling buffoonery." (Fringefeed Perth)

About this Event

Chameleon is a stirring mash-up of satire, storytelling and physical comedy, smashing stereotypes, exploring gender dynamics, and the harmful effects of social conditioning. With wit, vivacity, and whip-smart intelligence, Plummer draws frankly on her own experiences of living and loving in small town Australia and the big smoke of Paris to bare escapades both heartfelt and hair-raising.

Chameleon aims to create conversation around universal social issues for women, unite, and celebrate pleasure, liberation and sisterhood. Chameleon is the debut solo show, from actress and clown Britt Plummer. Plummer has been developing and touring the work over the past year beginning at MakeSpace, winning Adelaide Fringe Weekly Award for Emerging Artist 2019, and with the support of The Mill’s Spotlight Breakout Residency and Arts SA’s Made in Adelaide program, presented a new version of the show at Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and more recently FRINGE WORLD Perth. Chameleon is directed by funny man Hew Parham (Rudi’s The Rinse Cycle, Odyssey Schmodyssey, Giovanni!), and in it’s final form at RUMPUS, Plummer will be joined by a chorus of women.

“Delightfully, humorously, and shrewdly exploring gender and identity, CHAMELEON is a show of complexity and salience.” (Gutter Culture)
