Event description

Description

The nature of production is changing, with shifts towards new forms of acquisition, new forms of delivery and ability to capture many more views of the same shot in real time using phones, point of view cameras and SLRs augmenting (and sometimes replacing) the more traditional single camera used for so many productions. More shots means more material to sift through, and additional pressures on the post process.

On 15 February, the SMPTE Section Meeting focuses on some interesting aspects and challenges of the Post process, starting with the Emmy-award-winning "GroupItForMe" developed by Jason "JJ" Jamieson.

JJ's work shows that there's always room for a better mousetrap. Developed from a need to expedite a repetitive process, GroupItForMe has changed workflows and freed resource to do more creative work. The industry thought so too, when GroupItForMe was awarded an Engineering Emmy Award in 2016.

JJ will take us through the process, discuss the challenges, and give some insight into what it takes to be effective in Post, and discuss how the same process is going to apply in the consumer world.

Are you a SMPTE Member? If you're not and wish to receive all the member benefits, follow this link to join:
