Ceramic working at The Barn in Adelaide Hills
Sun. 6 November 2016, 10:00 am – 4:30 pm ACDT
In this intimate workshop, ceramicist Stephanie James-Manttan will provide insight into making a set of hand built ceramics objects that will be functional, unique and even a little bit quirky.
You will have the opportunity to use a variety of different clay bodies and will be instructed on different hand building and decorating techniques. All levels of experience are welcome.
During the session, Stephanie will discuss the finer points of working with clay and the passion that goes with being a maker in her chosen field of ceramics.
About the Barn: Set in the Adelaide Hills, The Barn was the old horse stables for the Victorian homestead Wairoa which, among other owners, belonged to the Barr Smith familiy and served as their summer residence for 30 years. Now it’s an artist hub for workshop and classes and supports a lively and talented group of studio tenants.
The workshop includes a homemade lunch, tea and coffee, materials and firings.
