About the workshop
In this workshop renowned ceramic artist Pru Morrison will introduce her amazing drawing techniques to teach you how to create unique, ceramic brooches. Using scraffitto and terra sigilata techniques, Pru will show you how to transfer your drawings on to clay brooches. Each participant will decorate 3 brooches that will be fired for you. Afternoon tea will be provided to create a wonderful afternoon of creativity.
What you’ll get:
- 3 ceramic brooches decorated by you
- We’ll fire your brooches for you to collect your at a later date
- Snacks and juice
What to bring:
- Please wear closed-in shoes
- Clothes you don’t mind getting a bit dirty (we’ll provide aprons)!
Pru Morrison’s ceramic art provokes an open-ended dialogue about everyday life in Australia.
Pru is a multidisciplinary artist who practices etching, painting and drawing – artistic expressions that all exert some influence over her ceramics. Her pieces are made by layering different coloured clay slips in the terra sigillata style before before scratching through the strata to create an image on the surface of the clay body.
Pru is the recipient of a Rockhampton Ergon Energy Award and Cairns William Graham Carmen Award.

Workshop Cancellation Policy
Please note that if minimum numbers are not reached this workshop will be cancelled. Participants will be notified of cancellation a week prior to the workshop date and refunded accordingly.
Participant Cancellation Policy
Bookings cancelled up to one week prior to the start of the workshop will be fully refunded.
Bookings cancelled within a week prior to the start of the workshop will receive a 50% refund.
Bookings cancelled after workshop has begun will NOT be refunded.
