Event description

Description

Work on your business, not in your business. Make time for the stuff that matters.The day is a combination of brainstorming and problem-solving with other business owners, as well as solid working time to focus on planning and strategic projects (no client work allowed!).

How It Works

This is a BYO work day, but with some activities and structure to help you get the most out of your investment of time. Your day will include:

  • Time to introduce yourself and your business to the other action-taking business owners at the CEO Day (and to find out what they do);
  • Focused time to work on projects that will help your business grow and move forward (using an accountability process to help you stay on track);
  • A group brainstorming session to help you tap into the wisdom of the group; plus
  • Access to our Chief Strategist Anna for assistance and ideas as you go.

What To Work On

You get to decide what you work on – the only ‘rule’ is that it has to be focused on your business itself, not on completing work for clients (if you’re service based) or creating product (if you’re product based). Ideally, you’d work on the things that a CEO would (so thinking about your long-term planning, considering how you build relationships and networks etc.) but you might choose to work on other things that will move your business forward (marketing, systems, templates etc.). Here are some ideas of what you could use your time to work on:

  • Review and update your business plan, marketing plan, social media schedule, blog schedule etc;
  • Review your 2017/18 figures – what’s working, what’s not;
  • Create your 2018/19 budget;
  • Develop some templates – Word documents, frequently sent email content, newsletter layout, social media post images;
  • Write some blogs, social media posts or newsletter content;
  • Research the things you want to know how to do (or do better);
  • Update your website content; or
  • Anything you’ve been meaning to do for ages, but just haven’t had the time.
What To Bring
  • Laptop or preferred device (or go old school with a notebook and pen);
  • Internet access (limited WIFI is available) or download materials you’ll need before you come and go ‘off-grid‘ for the day;
  • Layered clothing – the room is air-conditioned so pick a comfy outfit that you can adjust to suit the temperature of the room.
Healthy gluten free/dairy free morning and afternoon tea provided
BYO lunch (kitchen available) or stroll down to one of the local cafes

You are welcome to arrive from 9am to give yourself time to get settled for a 9:30am start.
