Central West and Orana Regional Plan Review Community Workshops
Event Information
About this event
The Central West and Orana Regional Plan is one of nine strategic plans covering each region in the state. The Plan has a 20-year horizon, that provides vision and direction to guide planning and land-use decisions to drive job creation, housing diversity, infrastructure, a healthy environment and connected communities and to create a vibrant network of urban centres, that build on their location at the heart of NSW.
The Central West and Orana region comprises the local government areas of Bathurst, Blayney, Bogan, Cabonne, Coonamble, Cowra, Dubbo, Forbes, Gilgandra, Lachlan, Lithgow, Mid-Western, Narromine, Oberon, Orange, Parkes, Warren, Warrumbungle and Weddin.
The Department of Planning, Industry and Environment has been working closely with other government agencies, councils, industry and local communities to implement the plans. Released in June 2017, the current Plan must now be reviewed and update to reset priorities and direction to ensure that it continues to support all the communities across the Central West and Orana Region through to 2041.
The Department has been undertaking a comprehensive review of the Regional Plan throughout 2021 and an important step in the review process is speaking with communities and stakeholders across the region.
The draft Plan is on exhibition to 11.59pm Friday 18 February 2022. To help finalise the review of the Central West and Orana Regional Plan, we want to talk with as many local communities as possible, to get your insights and ideas about the future of your region.
