'Celebrating Women in Sport'
Joins us to celebrate amazing women in sport for International Women’s Day. We want to acknowledge and celebrate women and the contributions they have made and continue to make. Hosted by Optus television host Heather Garriock, the format will consist of panel interviews and facilitated questions from attendees.

BRIEF BIOS - PANEL MEMBERS
Heather Garriock (Host)
Heather Garriock is the Vice President of Football Coaches Australia, Optus television host and current CEO of Australian Taekwondo. A former Australian soccer coach and player, Garriock played as a midfielder in a career based mostly in Australia. Her last stint as a player was for Western Sydney Wanderers of the Australian W-League. Garriock played 130 matches for the Australian women's national team, appearing at two Olympic football tournaments and three FIFA Women's World Cups. Heather has held head coach roles at Sydney University (NPL), Canberra United FC (W-League) and was a Matildas Assistant Coach (2017-18).
Aish Ravi (Facilitator)
Aish Ravi is on the Executive Committee of Football Coaches Australia, Co- Founder of the Women’s Coaching Association, current Senior Women’s Head Coach at Cobras FC, IB and VCE Business and Economics Teacher and PhD Candidate at Monash University with a focus on women’s football and coach education.
Katrina Powell OAM
Katrina won successive Olympic gold medals with the Hockeyroos in 1996 and 2000 and was rated among Australia’s most effective attackers during her stellar international career. She famously scored the final goal in Australia’s 3-1 victory against South Korea in the 1996 Olympic gold medal final. Her second gold medal was won four years later in front of a home crowd in Sydney, with Australia defeating Argentina 3-1 in the final. The triple Olympian is currently a NSW Institute of Sport Head Coach and a National Training Coach, which has allowed her to work closely with our top NSW players at an elite level.
Mel Andreatta
Melissa Andreatta is currently assistant coach of The Matildas, Brisbane Strikers under-16 and under-18 coach and was formerly Brisbane Roar FC W-League head coach (Premiers 2017-18). She has previously held roles as the Brisbane Roar Assistant Coach, the National Training Centre coach and Football Queensland Girls State Team coach and the Australia women's national under-17 Assistant coach.
Vicki Linton
Vicki Linton is the Head Coach of W-League team Canberra United. Her resume includes roles as the assistant coach with the Westfield Matildas, head coach of the Junior Matildas, and head coach of Melbourne Victory’s Westfield W-League side, which she guided to consecutive finals appearances.
She has also coached internationally in the USL W-League clubs Bay Area Breeze and Boston Renegades, and has spent the past three years with the U.S. Soccer Federation’s Development Academy, where she mentored Academy Directors to improve player and coach development.
Linton has also worked as a FIFA Women’s Football Instructor, conducting numerous FIFA Women’s Football Development Courses in Asia and Oceania countries over the past decade.
Darlene Harrison
Darlene Harrison is a high performance sport and leadership consultant. She previously was the head of performance coaching and leadership at the Australian Institute of Sport. She has worked in coaching at the AIS since 2009 and before that held a similar role in the UK for almost a decade.
