The NSW Government is undergoing an assessement of the Hawekesbury Shelf Marine Bioregion (between Newcastle to Woollongong) to increase biodivserity in the region while balancing the other uses of fishing, boating etc. A Marine Park for the Hawkesbury Shelf Marine Bioregion would be a great initiative to achieve this balance, containing a network of marine sanctuaries. The submssion process is open until April 24th and please contact Fiona for a submission pack on fionamccuaig@amcs.org.au.
