Dive into the World of Creating Picture Books and Junior Fiction

Don’t miss this outstanding line-up of presenters at The Literature Centre in Fremantle! Experience two days of ideas, inspiration and insights into creating Australian picture books and junior fiction for children. The Celebrate Reading program will suit teachers, librarians, educators, writers, artists and book lovers.

Celebrate Reading offers an atmosphere and venue like no other. Delegates will enjoy:

• All panels and solos - no concurrent sessions.

• Outstanding discussions on key issues in Australian children's literature including: the importance of First Nations voices, writing for diverse learning abilities, history meets imagination, reaching the digital child with story, insights into creating new work, and more!

• A deeper understanding of picture books and junior fiction, particularly their importance in the classroom.

• Beautifully curated exhibitions of original picture book artwork.

• Ample book signing opportunities with all presenters.

• Generous delegate bag and inclusion in prize draws.

• Registration includes two full days of sessions and all tea breaks, lunches and Sundowner.

NEW! This year a larger seated venue within the Old Fremantle Prison will be used for all sessions, with opportunities to browse exhibitions and the bookshop at the Centre. Venue entry and exit remains via The Literature Centre.

PROGRAM - sessions on Day 1 and Day 2 are typically 9am to 5pm with gates closing 6pm each day. Conference Program released during Term 2.

REGISTRATION - Choose from the following:

Early Bird Registration $495 per person (incl GST) Deadline 5pm, 7 June 2022.

Standard Registration $550 per person (incl GST)

Student Registration $395 per person (incl GST)

Shared Registration $330 per person (incl GST) Two people same organisation, attend one day each.

Single Day Registration $330 per person (incl GST) One person attends Friday OR Saturday. We understand in the current climate this may assist if work commitments and budgets are tight.

OPTIONAL PARKING - A limited number of optional on-site parking spaces are available at $25 per car. Please ensure you select parking at the time of booking to enable the $25 fee to be applied to your registration. When the limit is reached, parking will not longer be available as an option.

COVID SAFETYThe Literature Centre will follow WA COVID Safety Guidelines, which may be subject to change. See the latest at www.wa.gov.au. Closer to our event, we will remind delegates of health measures and mandates. See our current COVID Safety Plan on our website www.thelitcentre.org.au

Currently (March 2022) all delegates will be required to wear masks in our indoor setting, show proof of COVID vaccination status or medical exemption, and check-in via mobile app or written contact register. REFUND POLICY - Cancellations received in writing by Friday 23 September, 2022 will be eligible for a refund less an administration fee of $50 per delegate. Refund requests received after this date will be subject to Board approval. Delegate registrations are transferable before the event so long as the change of name details are advised in writing to The Literature Centre by Friday 21 October, 2022 (one week before the event).
