Description

James Roy is a well-known Australian author of books for children of all ages. His first book Almost Wednesday came out in 1996, and since then, his Chook Doolan and Legends (in their own Lunchbox) book series have captured the hearts of younger readers. With many of his books being translated for international readers, Roy is a writer of great passion and with a knack for creating real-life characters and situations.

James Roy is best known for his award-winning books, including Captain Mack, Icabod Heart and the Lighthouse Mystery, and young adult fiction including Hunting Elephants, Full Moon Racing and Almost Wednesday. His books are also award-winners; One Thousand Hills won the NSW Premier's History prize, and Anonymity Jones took out the NSW Premier's Literary Award. His two books of short stories titled, City and Town have had great success in bringing the short story format to young adult readers.
