Description

Celebrating 50 Years of Teaching at the Power Institute!

Join us to celebrate the Department of Art History’s 50th Anniversary of Teaching over an evening of live music, conversation and drinks. Hear distinguished alumni and faculty reminisce about memorable moments and reflect on the Power Institute’s continuing impact.

Since the first year of teaching in 1968, the Department has been leading generations of students to engage with the rich history and theory of art and moving images. We have helped to educate, train and enthuse a host of students of Art History and Visual Culture who have gone on to important positions at museums, universities, and galleries, and inspired many with a lifelong passion for art.

Now is the time to mark the founding of the Department by the JW Power Bequest, and celebrate great teachers, mentors and guides. Come and meet fellow grads, reunite with friends and teachers and share experiences of our degrees and courses: Fine Arts, Art History, Film Studies, Museum Studies and Art Curating - bring your photos, memories and anecdotes!

Do you have photos or memorabilia to be included in our presentation for the evening? If so, please email powerinstitute.events@sydney.edu.au
