Join CBCA Judge, Karys McEwen, for a lively and informative look at this year’s CBCA Books for Older Readers.

About this event

The annual CBCA Awards are one of Australia’s most prestigious awards for children’s literature. The Older Reader category focuses on excellent books for mature readers (aged 13 to 18 years) and may deal with challenging themes.

Come along if you’re an educator, aspiring writer of books for young adults or just for the pleasure of listening to a passionate and knowledgeable expert speak about books.

This event is a Professional Development opportunity for educators. PD Certificates will be available.

Karys McEwen is the library manager at both Prahran High School and Richmond High School. She is the current President of the CBCA Victorian Branch. Karys also makes zines and writes for Books and Publishing magazine. She is passionate about the positive impact libraries and literature can have on the wellbeing of young people.
