Seminar for Catholic Parents

Raising your children in the Catholic faith is a great responsibility and a challenge which our culture doesn’t make easy. Come along and hear three great talks to help you navigate the challenges of parenting.

DATE: Tuesday 12th September

TIME: 8.45am-1.00pm

VENUE: St Peter and Paul’s Catholic Church, Parish Hall, 377 Dorcas St, South Melbourne.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS


Dr. Edward Sri is a theologian, author and well-known speaker. Each year he speaks to clergy, parish leaders, teachers and laity from around the world. He has written several best-selling books, including A Biblical Walk through the Mass, Walking with Mary and his newest release, Who Am I to Judge? Responding to Relativism with Logic and Love. He serves as a professor of theology and Vice-President of Mission and Outreach at the Augustine Institute in Denver, Colorado and resides there with his wife Elizabeth and their eight children.

Dr Conor Sweeney is a theologian, author and lecturer at the John Paul II Institute for Marriage and Family Studies in Melbourne. Conor is a Canadian by birth, born and raised near Vancouver, B.C. He has a licentiate and doctorate in Sacred Theology from the Roman session of the John Paul II Institute for Marriage and Family. Conor lectures in sacramental theology and continental philosophy at the Institute. He is married with four children.

Simon Carrington was raised in a devout Catholic family of eight and is engaged to his beautiful fiancé Madeleine Vella. Simon has completed a Bachelor of Theology, minoring in Philosophy at the University of Notre Dame Australia, and is currently undertaking a Certification Course at the Theology of the Body Institute in Pennsylvania, USA. Simon has been active in youth ministry for the past 5 years, with a passionate focus on St Pope John Paul II’s Theology of the Body and Catholic Apologetics. He is an affiliate employee of covenanteyes.com, an internet filtering and accountability software ministry, which helps people break free from the vice of pornography.
