About this event
Dr Catherine Hamlin’s journey was one of passion, determination and selflessness. She dedicated her life to the women of Ethiopia, working tirelessly for decades to improve maternal health care across the country and to give women love, hope and the opportunity to regain their lives.
No other woman, or man, has done as much to eradicate this preventable, crippling condition and give these women back their lives.
Dr Catherine Hamlin’s vision was to eradicate obstetric fistula forever.
Join us for an evening to celebrate the life of one of the world’s greatest humanitarians and continue her journey towards 100,000 lives changed and eradicate fistula forever.

- Sue Williams, author of 'Healing Lives' which follows Catherine's friendship with protege Mamitu Gashe.
- John Little, author of 'Catherine's Gift' who also assisted Catherine to write 'Hospital by the River'

- Dr Tesfaye Mamo, CEO of Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia
- Mamitu Gashe, one of the most acclaimed fistula surgeons in the world who first met Catherine and Reg in 1968 as a patient.
We are so delighted that Dame Quentin Bryce, former Governor General of Australia and a dear friend of Catherine's, will be joining us on the evening.
