About this event

Aligning with the releasing of some new songs to the world please come share our happiness by hearing these bands play while enjoying local food and bevvies!

- DARLING DON -

Starting out in 2015 as a solo project known as 'Light Factory', Samuel Roberts' warm, hopeful vocal tone and prying lyrics had him supporting the likes of Obscura Hail, Jordan Ireland, Shining Bird and Blien Vesne (Argentina). In 2019 drummer Sheren Sujanto, bassist Kenner Yoga and Keyboardist Krizia Montano (Zia Paola) joined Samuel where they met at the Australian Institute of Music in Sydney. Now known as DARLING DON the quartet fuse their influences from folk, rock, jazz and RnB to bring an uplifting yet melancholic force. They released their raw, punchy single 'Breezy Town' in February 2021, which was recorded by the band in isolation from one another. They're expected to drop their first EP this year.

- CHRIS DE SOUZA -

Born and raised on Dené and Sto:lo lands (Canada), Chris has been living and writing moody folk music on Dharawal land (Wollongong) for well past a decade, in 2016 releasing his debut EP kind of about life in Port Kembla called 'Solastalgia' (a full two years before Missy Higgins swamped Google with her album of the same name :/). An unlikely gift of 2020, Chris is now completely loving that dad-band life, having lured choice local legends into the back shed to try out his songs a lot bit louder than usual. It worked. It really worked, and they all obliged to be henceforth known as 'THE FREUDIAN SLIPS’. There was a massive group high-five you should’ve been there. Analyse us!

- CASUAL FAN -

Casual Fan is a band from Sydney, started when songwriter Nathan moved from his home town of Newcastle to Sydney and began making music with some new friends.

Following a string of live shows in 2019, the band recorded their first collection of songs in the sweltering heat of tropical Cairns, with Mark Myers (The Middle East). The resulting EP, “I’ve Dreamt About These Days” is a hazy and driving collection of songs, situated somewhere in the intersection of indie rock and folk. People like Claire Mooney from Triple J are saying things like ‘it’s quite simply…beautiful’.
