CASS International Women's Day Afternoon Tea
Event Information
About this Event
Celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women, the CASS Gender Equity Working Group will be hosting an afternoon tea on Tuesday 9th March at 3.00pm in the School of Art and Design Gallery, Liversidge Street, ACTON.
International Women's Day's 2021 theme is #ChooseToChallenge. A challenged world is an alert world and from challenge comes change, so let's all choose to challenge - will you help forge a gender equal world?
The CASS International Women's Day afternoon tea will highlight current CASS and ANU gender initiatives that are driving equity within the College. With both professional and academic leaders choosing to challenge gender bias and inequality, this will be an event not to miss.
Taking place at the School of Art and Design's Gallery, attendees will also be able to view the JamFactory's ICON series that celebrates the achievements of South Australia's most influential artists working in craft-based media. The series; JamFactory ICON Angela Valamanesh: About being here is inspired by the symbiosis between science and poetry. Eliciting intrigue and a strong sense of personal investigation, Angela Valamanesh manipulates seemingly familiar anatomical, botanical and parasitic forms in beguiling and unusual ways. The artwork is Angela Valamanesh’s exploration into the interconnectedness of life on earth – between human, animal, and plant beings, and sets a wonderful backdrop as part of the CASS International Women's Day Afternoon Tea.
