ABOUT THE EVENT
Georges River Council’s 2017 Australia Day Celebrations at Carss Bush Park is an event bursting with an exciting entertainment line-up which keeps the crowds captivated throughout the day and into the night. Fifty new Australians participate in a moving Australian Citizenship Ceremony at the commencement of the day’s events as they are welcomed into the Kogarah community at one of Sydney’s most popular and vibrant celebrations of our national identity. The terrific entertainment line-up features professional and local bands and performers. Over 40 stallholders provide amusements, rides, arts and crafts as well as a variety of cuisines to keep bellies full and people happy. Council values quality stallholders and acknowledges their contribution to the success of Australia Day. At 9.00pm event-goers witness a brilliant display of fireworks over Kogarah Bay. This event is generously supported onsite by Kogarah State Emergency Service, St John Ambulance, Kogarah Fire Brigade, NSW Police Kogarah Local Area Command and volunteers from Botany Bay Yacht Club.
