About this Event

Due to COVID-19 restrictions in place and the risk to public health the annual Lake Woodcroft Carp Fish-out on the 13 February 2021 has been postponed.It will be practicable to hold the event at a later date to better guarantee the safety and comfort for as many attendees as possible.

You are invited to attend the Lake Woodcroft Carp Fish-Out.

We will be hosting a free fishing event to help reduce the number of carp degrading Lake Woodcroft and raise awareness of the negative impacts Carp has on waterways. Carp are a large introduced freshwater fish which are common throughout most of NSW. They are well known as a pest because of their destructive bottom-feeding habits.

Bring along your rod, tackle and bait, worms, or corn kernels to this fun event. 

Bookings open 1 January 2021.

This is a FREE family event, but bookings are essential for crowd control.

All participants are required to have a recreational fishing licence/permit from NSW Department of Primary Industries. For further information on the requirements and exemptions see:

You are required to pay the NSW recreational fishing fee to fish in fresh and salt water in the state unless you are:

  • under the age of 18
  • an adult assisting a person under the age of 18 to take a fish using a single rod
  • an Aboriginal person, or
  • the holder of a:
  1. Current Pensioner Concession Card issued by Centrelink
  2. Current Pensioner Concession Card issued by the Department of Veterans' Affairs
  3. Commonwealth Department of Veterans' Affairs Gold Treatment Card endorsed "Totally and Permanently Incapacitated"(TPI)
  4. Commonwealth Department of Veterans' Affairs Gold Treatment Card endorsed "Extreme Disablement Adjustment" (EDA)
  5. Letter from the Commonwealth Department of Veterans' Affairs stating that the person receive a disability pension of 70 per cent or higher, or an intermediate pension

***Please note that Senior's Cards, Health Care Cards and Repatriation Health Cards will not exempt you from paying the fishing fee.
