CAROSELLO ITALIANO 2018 – SERIES 2 - Regional Cuisine Evenings
Our famous “Carosello Italiano” is back where every month we take you on a culinary journey through Italy to experience some of Italy’s most famous and unique regional dishes and wines. Our first stop begins with the island of Sicily, followed by Calabria, Basilicata and will progressively continue month by month up the “boot of Italy” every third Wednesday of the month. A selection of dishes ranging from an Antipasto, Main or Dessert will be on sale on the evening as well as our regular menu. Registration is essential and costs only $10 per person, which will be used as credit towards your final bill. Regional dishes & wines only available until sold out. CAROSELLO CALABRIA - Wednesday, 21 March
This month we travel to Calabria, Italy’s most southern tip on the mainland, also referred to as the ‘foot’ of Italy – famous for it’s use of chili.
Come and try Calabria’s famous ‘nduja’ - a spreadable salami flavoured with roasted chili, plus other Calabrian specialties.
CALABRIAN MENU SELECTION - JUST RELEASED!!!
N'DUJA & PANE $10.00 - Calabria’s most famous dish which may have originated from the French word “Andouille” – a soft-like sausage made with pork & spices. The Calabrian version is made with “Peperoncino” aka Hot Chilli - Served with hot chilli-marinated olives.
PASTA A LU FURNU` $19.00 - This is heaven for all those who like pasta baked in the oven and eggplants. Short pasta tossed with our rich meaty Ragu` Sauce enriched with meatballs, salame, boiled eggs and Provola cheese, encased between a top and bottom layer of fried eggplant slices.
POLPETTE MAMMOLESE $19.00 - A dish from the mountainous region of Mammola located in the mountains of Aspromonte National Park - Delicious pork meatballs richly flavoured with garlic, goats cheese and a hint of chilli. Buonissimo!
PIZZA CALABRIA $23.00 - The cliff-top city of Tropea is famous for it’s red onion. This pizza has been inspired by this picturesque city. Stone-baked pizza base topped with our special sauce, Mozzarella, N’Duja salami spread, Cipolla di Tropea (Red Onion), and goats cheese

Calabria’s best known red wine - 100% Gaglioppo with notes of red berry fruit, orange and liquorice.
AMARO DEL CAPO by CAFFO $10.00 per shot - Italy’s latest trending Amaro is from Calabria. A secret recipe which includes mint, aniseed, liquorice and aromatic herbs, it is a great digestive to have after a meal.
NEGRONI DEL CAPO $16.00 - A shot of Amaro del Capo, Gin & Red Vermouth
