Stopping Family Violence is pleased to be hosting the team from Caring Dads to deliver training for professionals interested in learning how to deliver the Caring Dads program to their clients.

Caring Dads is devoted to ensuring the safety and well-being of children through working with fathers who have abused and neglected their children or exposed them to the abuse of their mothers.

This two-day interactive and skill-based facilitator training covers a range of key topics including the need for intervention with fathers, Caring Dads principles and values, program eligibility, referral and intake process, program goals and associated exercises, mother contact, and coordinated case management.

The workshop is particularly aimed at Men's Behaviour Change program group leaders, child protection workers, counselors working with families, victim advocates and supervisors and managers of these types of programs. Other professionals who may be interested in attending include psychologists, violence prevention educators, substance abuse counselors and healthcare workers.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Techpark is easily accessible by public transport, with a bus stop out the front of the venue.

There is also free parking available, with 150 bays available to attendees of the venue; there is also a large overflow area offering additional spaces. Reserved disabled bays are located cloes to the venue entrance.

Warning: If you are parking outside of the marked Function Centre car park, please ensure you read and obey the parking signage as fines may be applicable. Please also be mindful to not drive across bike paths or walking paths.

What's the refund policy?

In planning this workshop we have worked hard to keep costs low to enable as many people as possible to attend, as such we do not offer refunds for cancellation of tickets except for in exceptional circumstances. In the event of an exceptional circumstance please contact Aimee O'Hare in writing to apply for a refund, aimee@sfv.org.au.

We are however happy to organise a registration exchange, so if you are able to find someone to use your registration we would be happy to facilitate the change for you.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

Yes, but please ensure you let us know who you are transferring your registration to so that we can make sure we cater for the dietary requirments.
