About this Event
This group session is designed to support positive health and wellbeing outcomes for a carer, family or friend of a person living with dementia.
Participants will be empowered to build self-care skills which improve quality of life in a caring role. An individual follow up session will be offered to review progress in achieving your goals. You will gain knowledge in:
- the impact of caring for a person living with dementia on your wellbeing
- strategies to improve and maintain your health and wellbeing
- how to access appropriate services and support
Suitable for: Family carers and family members of people living with dementia. This program is not suitable for professionals employed in the health or aged care sectors.

Dementia Australia COVID-19 Precautions for Carers
- DO NOT attend the session if you are feeling unwell
- Wash your hands before the session
- Use the provided hand sanitiser as you enter and exit the classroom
- Bring a pen if you have one
- Do not share pens or paperwork
- Cough/Sneeze into your elbow and try not to touch your face
- Avoid close contact to others and sit 1.5m away from each other
Each carer must complete the Dementia Australia participant symptom checker form individually. If they answer "Yes" to any of the questions or have any flu like symptoms ahead of the program, they will need to leave and be excluded from this session.
What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Parking is available at the venue.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
It is ideal if you can bring your ticket. However, if you have completed your registration we will have your details and forgetting your ticket won’t be a problem.
