Carer Support Group (Online)
Overview
Caring for someone can place ongoing demands on your time, energy, and wellbeing. This 8-week online peer support series is designed to support carers in a safe, understanding, and practical way - all from the comfort of your own home.
Meeting online allows carers to connect regularly with the same group of people, helping build trust, shared understanding, and meaningful peer connections over time.
Across the 8 weeks, sessions will focus on:
- Managing stress and emotional overload
- Effective communication – expressing needs, setting boundaries, and being heard
- Recharge and reconnect – practical ways to restore energy and resilience
- Sleep and rest – improving sleep habits and managing fatigue
- Strengthening social connections and reducing isolation
Each session includes guided discussion, gentle reflection, practical strategies, and opportunities to share experiences with other carers. Participation is flexible — you can listen, share, or simply take what you need from each session. You don’t need to have all the answers. This is a space to pause, connect, learn, and feel supported.
Sessions will be held weekly from 9:30am - 11:30m AEST on Tuesdays starting from 13th January, 2026. Sessions will be held online via Microsoft Teams - please contact us if you require any assistance with getting connected. Carers are encouraged to attend all sessions to get the most out of the experience.
If you are having trouble registering for our event, please contact us on 1800 422 737.
Please note: This event is open to Australian residents living in Queensland or South-Western Sydney and Nepean Blue Mountains regions in New South Wales, Australia only. Participants must also be registered with Carer Gateway (we can assist with new registrations for eligible participants).
