This event is specifically curated for secondary school students, their parents and teachers. For art, design and media students interested in a career creating content for film, television, games, commercials, virtual reality and other digital applications, this event provides a window into the careers of some of the world's leading entertainment artists direct from Los Angeles, USA.
These artists have contributed to commercials, television productions, Academy Award winning films, and AAA games including Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Avatar, World of Warcraft, Frozen, Big Hero 6, Starcraft, Diablo III, Call of Duty, Pirates of the Caribbean, Harry Potter, Captain America and Thor amongst others. Working as VFX artists, art directors, creature designers, environment artists and directors they will share their own career pathways and offer insight into their roles working in teams of advanced practitioners and award winning directors. The event features a two-hour forum, followed by the opportunity to ask questions and meet the international presenters. The program is curated by AlexAlvarez of Gnomon School of Visual Effects, Games and Animation.

Known in Hollywood as the pre-eminent school for entertainment design, Gnomon is described by Fast Company magazine as the MIT of VFX. The school has worked closely with the entertainment industry in LA since 1997 to develop curriculum that is highly regarded for continuing education and enrichment and had a placement rate of 94% in 2015 for their undergraduate programs. Gnomon has taken the title of School of the Year for the past two years in the prestigious CG Student Awards. Gnomon’s instructors work in leading studios and are versed in the most up-to-date software, hardware and techniques used in the film, game, television and advertising fields and are supported by Gnomon’s established curriculum. Gnomon curriculum develops and evolves in close relation to these industry workplace challenges. Alongside on-campus programs, Gnomon develops online workshops and resources for continuing education offering a chance to learn from masters in the entertainment industry.
