When working with clients, fellow volunteers or friends with a disability, many volunteers feel unsure about what is appropriate to say or do.

This course will cover:

  • The legal and historical context of disability inclusion
  • How to ensure communication is not offensive or disrespectful
  • Definitions of disability in medical and social contexts
  • Why assumptions can be harmful
  • The role of respect in disability inclusion
