Do you have an interest in movies?

Ever wanted to learn how to write a short story?

Or how to be a director, camera operator or editor?

Maybe those extra skills to make your Capricorn Film Festival entry amazing!

This short introduction workshop is this and so much more as you learn entry level skills into the film making process, from idea inception through to distribution.

Learn from the people behind Gladstone's international award winning feature film, "Broke" with Producer Luke Graham leading the course and giving you those secrets needed to make your films stand out from the rest.


Day 1 Development and Pre Production (7 hours)

  1. Sequence of Production
  2. Crew Roles and Responsibilities
  3. Camera Tutorial
  4. Sound Tutorial
  5. Storyboard, Shot List & Shooting Schedule
  6. On Set
  7. Working with actors
  8. Script and Story
  9. Script Creation
  10. Choose Crew Roles


Day 2 Production and Post (7 hours)

  1. Shoot
  2. Edit


Participants require no previous experience prior to the course, just an enthusiasm for cinema and film making. We encourage any students that were unable to take part in the workshop offered via their school to attend.


Age restriction is 11 up.


Participants to Bring:

  • Video Camera / Iphone / DSLR Camera
  • Food and Water
  • Notebook and Pen

There is a coffee shop on site.

Luke Graham Bio.

Luke Graham is an Australian feature film Producer and founder of Capricorn Film Festival based in Central Queensland, Australia. He is known for award winning low budget feature films Broke 2016 and Braille 2010.

Broke was selected for 27 international film festivals, winning five awards and was distributed in Australian and New Zealand by Bonsai Films in 2016.

Luke started off producing highly successful short films including; Spoonman 2004, Bella 2009, Bee Sting 2010, and The Last Roll of the Dice 2010.

He specialises as a Creative Producer and frequently works in the Editorial Department of his projects.
