Event description

Description

Brookie’s Byron Dry Gin is produced at our farm distillery (Cape Byron Distillery) in the hinterland of Byron Bay. We're only open for tours by appointment, so yours will be a special experience. The distillery is set in the heart of our macadamia farm surrounded by sub-tropical rainforest.

On arrival, you will be welcomed to the cellar door with a refreshing Brookie's Gin & tonic as we take you on a journey through the story of Cape Byron Distillery, the Brook family farm and the art of distillation. A guided tour through the sub-tropical rainforest is a magical experience; to smell, see and touch the botanicals that are used in the gin, learn the history of the Big Scrub Rainforest and fall in love with this special place. On return to the distillery for a gin tasting and relax on the verandah overlooking our farm, watch the birds and enjoy the view.

*** All tours run are advertised in NSW time, please be mindful travelling from QLD. ***

FAQs

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

Minimum age is 18+ years required for tastings.

Children under 18 welcome if accompanied by a responsible adult, there is no additional charge for children.

How long are the tours?

The tours will run for approximately a 1-1.5 hours duration

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

We have parking available. Access is down a long farm driveway through a beautiful eucalypt forest, turn left at our farm shed and park in the parking areas.

A full-sized coach will not fit down the driveway, however smaller shuttles are fine.

As we have limited parking at the distillery we encourage guests who are part of groups to travel together by carpooling. For some guests travelling from Byron Bay’s southern suburbs the GPS will often recommend you take Bangalow Road to St Helena Road and whilst this looks like the fastest and shortest route, we strongly encourage you to take the longer route out past The Farm on Ewingsdale Road as St Helena is not sealed and can be quite a dangerous road.

Taxi and uber services are available throughout the shire for on average $25-30 one way from the byron centre, if your uber from the distillery looks like it will be grossly expensive please speak with cellar door staff as sometimes there is a glitch in the uber booking system that they know how to remedy this.
