About this event:

Come along to this one of a kind event – Cane Toad Busting – where you and your family can directly help Scenic Rim's wildlife and natural environment, by removing Cane Toads from the property Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk located at Tamborine Mountain.

Learn all about how to identify native frogs vs cane toads, the Cane Toad Challenge project, while also hunting/catching for one of our most unwanted pests, the cane toad.

What to expect:

Please arrive for a 6:00pm start. A short presentation by Catherine from Scenic Rim Regional Council (Land for Wildlife program) on correct toad vs frog identification, and about the project.

645pm: Cane toad busting/collecting will commence.

745pm: Followed by a late supper where we will count everyone's catches.

Prizes:Given to the most collected on the night, and largest toad captured.

Please bring: a torch, and wear enclosed shoes and long pants.

We will provide buckets and grabbers for collecting on the night.

Ages: Family friendly. This event is suitable for children aged over 8 years old (parental /guardian supervision is mandatory).

Please make sure you are aware of current COVID-19 restrictions.

Please maintain 1.5 metres physical distancing during the event.
